Haroun Al Rashad was a thief (played from 1st to 20th level) from 2nd edition D&D Al Qa "fricken" Dim.
He was seperated from Hanzala - the woman he loved most. She got a curse during that time that if she ever kissed the man she loved- both of their souls would be destroyed.
Haroun faced his genie double in an erupting volcano. The double had kidnapped Hanzala. A big duel happened, but with Hanzala's help Haroun defeated his double.
With the volcano about to explode and knowing they were going to die, they kissed one last time. Fate (an actual force in Al Qa "fricken" Dim) twisted the nature of the curse and had both of their souls combine into one soul so they could be together forever.
